As promised, above is the unbelievable picture of a giant ship that just missed crashing into a sleeping man’s house.
Imagine waking up to find a massive container ship practically parked in your backyard. Sounds like something out of a movie, right? Well, for Johan Helberg from Norway, this was his reality on the morning of May 22, 2025.
Picture this: Johan, still groggy from sleep, is woken up by his persistent doorbell. Reluctantly, he answers it to find his neighbor, Jostein, looking utterly amazed. “Have you not seen the ship?” Jostein asks. Johan, confused, peers out his window and there it is – the NCL Salten, a 135-meter-long container ship, just meters away from his home!
Now, here’s the kicker – both Johan and the ship’s captain were asleep during this whole ordeal! The ship had run aground in the Trondheim Fjord, nearly crashing into Johan’s house. If it had been just five meters further south, it would have entered his bedroom. Talk about a close call!
Thankfully, no one was injured, and the authorities are investigating the cause of the incident. Johan, taking it all in stride, joked about his “bulky new neighbor” and how it would soon be gone.
