Peanut Butter and Spicy Jelly Hamburgers are one of my favorites. Since today is National Hamburger Day, I’m sharing my recipe. But first, how about I spend 20 minutes explaining why it’s such a great burger, how I discovered it, how much my family loves it, and about 20 things that have nothing to do with the recipe?

No? Good. That’s is my biggest pet peeve about people putting recipes online.

First off pick your favorite jelly. Flavor doesn’t matter. We’re just shooting for the sweet. Mix 2 tablespoons with some habanero sauce. The ratio is up to you. I like just enough spicy to notice. Spread it on the top half of your bun. On the bottom half, spread 4 tablespoons of generic, no frills creamy peanut butter.

I usually just mix in a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce with sprinkles of salt and pepper into 85% lean hamburger. Then roll it into a ball, press it down pretty flat, and toss on the grill. Cook to medium done.

Slap everything together and serve with fries. You might also want to make a little extra spicy jelly to dip you fries in. It’s pretty tasty.

Sometimes I add mayo to everything to make it all a little creamier. Your choice.
