Climate change is affecting coffee drinkers in a new way that has nothing to do with supply issues or prices.

The National Weather Service out of Las Vegas, as well as health experts in California, are advising people to drink less coffee as temperatures continue to get hotter and hotter. And not just coffee, but other caffeinated drinks and alcohol. Caffeine and alcohol are diuretics. That means they make your body pass water faster. In hot weather, that means you’ll dehydrate quicker.

Temperatures in Nevada and Cali will be over 100 already this coming weekend. And we’ll be seeing that here in Nebraska in the not too distant future. Some signs of dehydration include skin won’t go back to normal after pinching it, dizziness, and confusion. Below is a video with more. Don’t ignore the signs. It can kill you. In fact, it killed a well-known endurance runner just last month because she pushed too hard. She was used to running 100s of miles at a time.
