We are never going to see the next Game Of Thrones book. George R R Martin just said so. If you’re like me and have been waiting for “The Winds Of Winter” for over a decade, you might want to walk away.
And yes, I know that he promised it would be out, like, 3 different times. And just last month, he told an interviewer that the book is a priority.
However, George posted on his website Wednesday, “I will never finish Winds. If I do, I will never finish A Dream of Spring. If I do, it won’t be any good. I ought to get some other writer to pinch hit for me…”. He also jokingly said that he doesn’t really care about writing anymore and that he just wants to sit around spending his money.
I can’t blame him for that. None of us can blame him for that. He’s 78 years old. And, he alluded to that saying, “I’m going to die soon anyway because I’m so old”. I’m assuming he was being sarcastic about that too.
Personally, I hope he’s just blowing off steam after everyone keeps hounding him about it. But, he is involved with about 5 other projects at the moment. Stranger things have happened, just like in his books.
