Women might be able to get out of the yearly pap smear and take the test at home soon.
The FDA has approved the 1st at home cervical cancer screening test. Plus, from what I’ve read, it should be covered by some insurance agencies. It comes with a wand that you use to swab in your own home, on your time. Then you send it off to a lab where they test for the HPV virus.
It’s important to note that checkups with your doctor check for infections, abnormal cell growth, and precancerous or cancerous cells. But, statistically, a large number of women put of the yearly examine and this is a step towards better health.
The Company is called Teal Health. The tests aren’t available yet, but their web site says they’ll be shipping soon and they have a wait list. HERE’S THE LINK to their website.
