A California family recently adopted an aging pet dog and found out that he was related to their recently deceased pet.
They originally raised a pup named Rufus. He was with the family from the parents dating, though the wedding, and well past kids being born, But he passed away earlier this year. They weren’t going to adopt another dog. But they were thinking about fostering. As they looked through pics at a local shelter they saw one that looked a lot like Rufus. They brought him home where he acted a lot like Rufus. It was getting a bit weird for everyone, so they had a service run this other dog’s DNA.
It’s Rufus’s father. Over a decade after adopting their beloved Rufus from a shelter, just 3 months after Rufus passed away, they saved his dad, Ziggy, from a shelter.
Serendipity? Synchronicity? I like to think of it as the universe lending a helping, healing hand.
