The Los Angeles Major Crimes Division raided a home Wednesday and seized………. A fire truck the man had hidden there.
How do you hide a fire truck at your house? It was a huge, very expensive house in Brentwood. Is it even possible for a guy off the street to buy a fire truck? Actually, yeah. Anyone can buy a fire truck. Gov Deals dot Com has a bunch. I found one for just $7,500. It’s got the whole set up: ladder, hose rigging, etc. But there are tons of regulations and laws about how you use it. I mean, I can’t buy one and drive it around honking the horn while using the speakers to let everyone know it’s my birthday……… no matter how fun that’d be.
Anyway, the guy in California was apparently using his to impersonate first responders. They tracked the truck, illegal firearms, fake badges, and other stuff all related to an incident where a man was imitating officials 2 years ago. Not only that. The truck was registered to a fake Fire Department.
