Uber is starting a new program that lets women specifically choose female drivers. It’s a part of their new “Women’s Preferences” feature. This comes as many women have shown concern about their safety and complaints.
However, there are far less female Uber drivers than men, so, even if you set a preference for a woman driver, it’s not guaranteed. But it does increase your chances. Unfortunately, this isn’t everywhere in the US. Uber is test marketing it in LA, San Francisco, and Detroit over the next few weeks. Although, it’s already been well received in other parts of the world. In fact, I was very surprised to hear where this feature was first used………. Saudi Arabia, where they just started letting women drive in 2018.
By the way, men are NOT allowed to use the “Women’s Preferences” feature.
