A 20-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly firing a handgun from the balcony of his apartment in southeast Lincoln.

Lincoln Police Department Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says officers were called to the area of Mohave Drive and Yankee Woods Drive just before 3 a.m. on August 3 after reports of gunfire.

“Officers located the suspect, 20-year-old Hector Mora of Lincoln, in the building. He came down the elevator, confronted officers, and became uncooperative,” Thomas said.

Mora was ultimately taken into custody. Investigators recovered a black revolver and a box of ammunition. Multiple shell casings were found discarded in a trash can inside the apartment.

No injuries were reported. Mora was booked into Lancaster County Jail for discharging a firearm, refusing to comply, and disturbing the peace—all misdemeanors.
