Police can now “grapple” your car if you try to get away.

Police departments are getting technology straight out of a Batman movie. You know how the Batmobile shoots a hook out and can catch on things. I just watched a video where police use a Grappler Device where they hooked a car with a rope that attached to the police car. When the bad guy tried to drive away, it literally pulled both the back wheels and the rod connecting off the car like in a movie.

This Grappler unfolds from the front of police cars. They deploy it by bumping into the bad guy’s car, near a tire. Then a mesh of nets wrap around the tire connecting the cars by a tether. It was invented by a guy in Phoenix to help end car crashes in a much safer way. He says it’s become so popular that orders have begun to outpace his production abilities.

I don’t know if Lincoln’s Police Department has these or not. But I think it’d be super cool if they started wearing Batman Suits.
