The language company Babel kept track of words that were mispronounced by politicians, news people, celebrities, and other public figures in 2025. You know, people that should really know better and double check these things before speaking in public. Now Babel has their list of “Most Mispronounced Words Of 2025”.
Here are the most common.
Acetaminophen– Yeah, medicine with a 6 syllable name. No surprise there.
Alex Murdaugh – It’s spelled like Alex and the last name ends in “augh” which is normally a soft “ah” sound. Nope. Al-ick MUR dock. But what else would you expect from a convicted thief and murderer?
The French museum The Louvre– almost everyone ends it with “oove” like groove. There’s supposed to be a light “r” sound at the end. Pronouncing it wrong might end up getting a French guy spitting in your general direction.
There are also several well-known actor names we’ve ALL ben saying wrong and even a song title.
