I have a brownie cooking hack I invented last night. Thai Sweet Chili Sauce mixed in with Dark Chocolate Brownies. Really.
Yesterday was National Brownie Day. As you know, I like experimenting with recipes. I had some a box of Pillsbury Dark Chocolate Brownie mix, but not a lot of time. So, I opened up the fridge to see what else I could toss into the mix. Yes, Thai Sweet Chili Sauce.
This particular brand was too spicy for my liking, but I thought, “I bet the sweet part will enhance the dark chocolate aspect and maybe caramelize a bit while the spicy side thins out a bit.
As my friend John Baylor would say, ”Kaboom!” I followed the brownie instructions to the letter and then mixed in about a third of a cup of the sauce and baked at 350 for 20 minutes. Then served with milk and some whipping cream. They’re so good, I didn’t bring any to work. Normally I share. Not these.
