It’s National Cheese Lover’s Day! Speaking of, I spent hours last weekend trying to create baked cheese crisps from multiple recipes. Not one of them worked.
Jenny loves those protein cheese things that are basically burnt cheese, but tasty. I tried cutting up various types cheese slices, dollops of cottage cheese with seasonings, and shredded cheeses. I cooked at 275, 350, 425 and 8 minutes, 20 minutes, and once even 50 minutes. They all turned out…….. not so crisp, especially the cottage cheese which I actually squeezed most of the moisture out of once.
Maybe you’ll have better luck. Here’s a recipe using shredded cheddar. That’s the only ingredient unless you want to season it. It says it’s easy. They all say they’re easy. Apparently not for me.
Let me know how it works out for you.
Cheese Crisps

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
Shred generous amounts cheese.
-
Arrange cheese in 24 small heaps on the prepared baking sheets.
-
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 7 minutes. Cool for 5 to 10 minutes before removing from baking sheets.
This is the sliced cheese recipe I tried. It NEVER came out like in this video.
