Would you consider Valentine National Wildlife Refuge to be the most romantic spot in Nebraska? According to Travel And Leisure, it is.
They just put out their list of the “Most Romantic Spots In Every State” and based their criteria on spots that are perfect for couples’ getaways. This is why they picked Valentine: There’s a renowned stargazing spot on the outskirts of town, as well as an impressive National Wildlife Refuge. Designated by the Audubon Society as an “Important Bird Area,” the refuge makes a perfect destination for outdoorsy couples.
Looking at the rest of the states, I get the feel that Travel and Leisure basically picked outdoor parks for each state. They picked Monument Rocks in Kansas. That’s the area Jenny grew up. I’ve been there a lot. It’s a bunch of tall rocks and a looooot of walking and plenty of dust. Romantic is pushing it.
In Minnesota, they chose Split Rock Lighthouse. It’s a great view and it’s always freezing. But romantic? Only in the sense that you have to cuddle to stay warm.
For South Carolina. It’s Pitt Street Bridge…….. or, as I like to call it, a bike trail.
There are some that do look great, but romantic? You decide. HERE’S THE LINK to the full “Most Romantic Spots In Every State” list.
