The Olympics are currently filled with scandal with athletes yelling at each other calling names, and using profanity while competing. There was an incident during the CURLING competition. Yeah, the sport with zero contact and very little actual action has become the most heated in a match between Canada and Sweden………. Possibly the 2 nicest countries on Earth.
This is right after one of the Swedish team members accused Canada of cheating and Canada’s guy getting upset about it. I was going to post the video, but NBC is being a bit touchy about sharing any video from the Olympics. And our boss wouldn’t let me do a dramatic reenactment because of possibly offending people who eat Lutefisk. Anyway………..
Canada was accused of “double touching” the “Stone”, the thing that slides. As they push it on the ice, they’re supposed to let go without touching it again. Buuuuut……. Canada totally double touched it. I saw the video. Sweden saw them do it. But, the referees apparently were the only ones who didn’t see it. And, there’s no replays or reviews, so they got away with it.
And then Canada won which I bet made Sweden really made. So mad that they probably made some meatballs EXTRA spicy.
