Two LPD Officers Injured During Domestic Incident

By Tom Stanton Feb 27, 2026 | 12:30 PM

Lincoln Police were sent to an apartment complex around 12:30 Thursday morning for a domestic disturbance that had turned physical.  Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says they learned 45-year-old Josh Miller of Lincoln was wanted for a previous felony assault.

“He did not comply with officers’ commands and was told he was under arrest,” Thomas says.  “While attempting to enter the apartment, an officer was pinned in the doorway as Miller
pushed the door shut against his body, causing pain and discomfort to his left upper torso.”

Another officer deployed his Taser and Miller was ultimately taken into custody and handcuffed.  Thomas says a third officer had a bleeding scrape on his arm and pain from the incident.  Miller was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for two counts of assault on an officer, resisting arrest and child abuse.
