Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate cases: one involving a theft from a local pretzel store; the other involving an attempted burglary at a restaurant after hours.
The first case occurred around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, inside the Gateway Mall near 61st and “O” Street.
LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller said the Auntie Anne’s pretzel store reported their cash register tablet was taken from the business. Investigators reviewed security video footage, and observed the suspect looking at the store’s iPad while on the counter before stuffing it under his jacket while employees were not looking.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30’s or 40’s, wearing a ball cap, glasses, and a hoodie with a design on the left chest area.
Video and photos from the incident are available below.
The second case occurred just after midnight on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, at the Brewsky’s Food & Spirits restaurant near 27th and Cornhusker Highway.
Keller said officers were dispatched to the store after the alarm activated inside the building. The manager accessed security video footage, which captured the suspect attempting to remove the safe from the office—as officers were enroute.
Unable to move the heavy safe, the suspect returned with a dolly, but failed to move the safe again. The suspect then fled the scene before police arrived.
Video and photos from the incident are available below.
