Jenny and I spent a couple hours watching our new neighbors over the weekend.
It’s a family of foxes; the mom and 4 baby foxes.
The neighbor whose backyard is up against our backyard has a large shed… and a apparently a lot of room underneath the shed. That’s where they’ve been sleeping. The rest of the time, the babes run around playing, pouncing at each other, rolling, exploring, and being just all around cute. We can watch the perfectly from second level deck and bedroom.
Although, there was a bit of a standoff last night. Keep in mind that all of our yards are fenced off. Another neighbor’s very friendly pit bull, Trixie, was in her backyard just curiously watching the foxes. That sent the baby foxes scurrying under the shed while the mama stood and growled at Trixie. Not wanting to be left out, several squirrels in our yard starting angrily chattering at the mama fox. It was basically a Mexican standoff until Jenny went outside, petted Trixie, and got her to move further away.
