There’s this Dutch website that is becoming super popular right now. It has video, is interactive, and is getting tons of people because it lets you…….. get ready for this…… it lets you ring a doorbell for actual fish in a stream to let them move through some canals.
I know what you’re thinking, “Where has this been all my life?”.
Here’s the deal, fish need to go through this man made area to spawn. They get lost because of obstacles. However, there is a special area that can be opened to allow them through more easily at one of the locks.
So, they set up a live, underwater video stream where people watch for fish to approach. If one does, you can click on the virtual “doorbell” on your screen. Then, the Dutch guy on the other end opens then special fish door that lets them through.
People, like me, will watch the screen for half an hour just to see a fish and quickly hit the doorbell. And I actually let 2 fish through earlier today. Seriously, it’s kind of addictive.
