A woman is in critical condition following a freak accident on I-80 near Waverly around 11:00 Tuesday morning. “A pickup was hauling wood pallets on a trailer, they were traveling westbound at mile marker 410,” Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin tells KLIN News.
“Some of the pallets fell off and the husband and wife hauling them stopped.” Houchin says the pallets were very high on the trailer and the wife got out to assist her husband in backing up. The woman was then run over by the trailer.
Houchin says the woman was taken to a Lincoln hospital with life threatening injuries. The LSO crash team is investigating the crash.
