Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate cases: one involving a credit card fraudster; the other involving a jewelry thief at a Lincoln shopping mall.
The first case began on January 13, 2026.
LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller said the victim reported she received a Verizon text message about a deal about a month prior, which she clicked on and provided her credit card information.
The victim realized it was a scam and deactivated her card. She would later find out there was a denied charge on her card at Lululemon and a business called “Clipper Mobile” based in California. Investigators learned from bank employees that the suspect attempted to use her card, via his phone, not a physical card, to purchase gift cards.
Days later, on January 16, another victim reported two unauthorized withdrawals were made with her debit card information. Investigators believe the suspect was likely using a credit card cloning device to replicate her card information.
In both cases, video was provided and showed the same male believed to be responsible for the fraudulent activity. Keller said investigators have not been able to identify the suspect, so their reaching out to the community for help.
Photos of the suspect are available below.
The second case occurred around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Zales jewelry store in the Gateway Mall, on 61st and “O” Streets.
Keller said the store reported a man came into the store, interested in purchasing a ring. Upon trying on the first ring, a 5-carat ring worth $7,500, it became stuck on his finger.
The employee turned around to get something to help slide it off, but when she turned back, the man had already gotten it off himself. He gave the ring back and asked for another one to try on.
Store employees told investigators that the man eventually asked for the original ring back to try on again. When he did, he told the employee he was taking it, and quickly walked away.
An example photo of the ring and video and picture of the suspect are available below.
