Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were called to a fire at an apartment building near 23rd and D Street around 3:20 Sunday afternoon.
“There was a fire in the garage of the apartment complex, it was electrical in nature Lierman says. “They could not determine the breaker system, so they had needed to displace the entire apartment.”
Lierman says there was a cord in the area where the fire started and there were other items in the garage, including aerosol cans, that helped ignite the fire.
Damage is estimated at $40,000 and all 12 residents were temporarily relocated with the help of the Red Cross.
