The Lincoln Airport’s is set to return on Friday, May 1, with a screening of Zootopia 2 along with activities, food trucks and live entertainment.
The event will take place on the airport’s open green space on the west side (3801 North West 34th Street), with activities and food trucks beginning at 7 p.m. and the movie starting at dusk. The film will be broadcast on the side of LNK’s old Cold War hanger.
Organizers say the free event is accessible and welcoming for all ages. Attendees can park and watch from their vehicles or bring chairs and enjoy the outdoor setting. Families are encouraged to bring children, and well-behaved pets are also welcome.
In addition to the movie, the evening will include performances from local dance group Ritmo y Raíz, along with games, face painting and other activities for kids.
About seven food trucks are expected to be on site.
Local business Zazzy Cookies is sponsoring the event and partnering with ALS in the Heartland to raise awareness for ALS during ALS Awareness Month in May. The nonprofit is also marking its 20th anniversary this year.
While the event is free to attend, organizers encourage people to register in advance to help plan for parking and attendance. Register at eventbrite.com.
