Nebraska’s craft beer industry is losing one of its biggest names. Lincoln-based Zipline Brewing Company announced Thursday it is ending its brewing operations and closing its taproom and beer lounge effective immediately, bringing to a close more than a decade of business.
In a statement, the company said the decision was difficult but noted that Zipline Tap and Grill will remain open and continue serving customers as the organization shifts its focus to restaurant operations.
“What began as a vision to create exceptional craft beer grew into something far greater than we could have imagined,” the company said in a Facebook post. “Thanks to the support of our customers, employees, partners, retailers, and communities, Zipline became Nebraska’s largest brewery and a proud part of the state’s craft beer story.”
Company officials say millions of pints were brewed over the years while supporting local communities, creating jobs, and building lasting relationships with customers across the state. “We built lasting relationships and became part of the moments that matter most: celebrations, gatherings, friendships, and everyday experiences shared over a great beer,” the statement said.
