Fairfield Inn by Marriott in North Lincoln Total Loss After Fire

Fire completely destroyed the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott near North 27th and Superior Monday evening. LFR Battalion Chief Jim Bopp says the first call came in at 6:50 pm with some reporting a fire and an explosion.

“Our concern was there still may be occupants inside and whether it was evacuated,” Bopp says. “The initial company officer reported the fire was going up the outside of the building into the attic space, which is a highly dangerous situation for both the occupants and ourselves.”

Bopp says as they completed a third flood search the roof started to collapse. No cause has been determined, and additional information is expected later today. Guests were safely evacuated, and there were no injuries; however, some guests reportedly lost all of their personal belongings.
