Lincoln residents are invited to celebrate freedom, culture, and community at the Clyde Malone Community Center’s Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday. The event is designed to honor the significance of Juneteenth while recognizing the rich history, achievements, and contributions of the Black community.
Organizers say the celebration will bring together families, friends, and neighbors for a day focused on unity, education, entertainment, and cultural appreciation. The free public event will feature live entertainment, food vendors, local businesses, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to connect with community organizations and residents.
Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and is recognized as a federal holiday celebrating freedom and progress. Organizers say everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the community celebration from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Trago Park near 22nd and ‘U’ Street.
