Lincoln drivers should prepare for several street closures beginning the week of July 12. LTU says 13th Street between ‘P’ and ‘R’ streets and ‘R’ Street between 13th Street and Centennial Mall will close from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday for the Lincoln Mile.
Starting Monday, southbound 48th Street between Superior and Cornhusker Highway will close for a paving project and is expected to continue through the end of July. Access to businesses will remain open, with traffic detoured via Superior Street, Touzalin Avenue and Fremont Street. StarTran Routes 41-Havelock and 48-North 48th will also be detoured.
Also Monday, North Cotner Boulevard between 66th and 68th streets will close for utility work through July 15. Havelock Avenue between 84th and 98th streets will close from July 13 through July 27 to accommodate the National High School Rodeo.
Beginning Wednesday, Vine Street between 66th and 70th streets will close for a Lincoln on the Move street improvement project that is expected to continue into late fall of 2026. Access to homes will be maintained.
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities encourages motorists to seek alternate routes and use caution near construction zones.
