The Nebraska State Fair is just hours away from opening its gates in Grand Island, and organizers say excitement is building as final preparations are completed. Nebraska State Fair Marketing Director Courtney Glock tells KLIN News the excitement is at an all-time high for staff and vendors.
“Vendor booth spaces are getting finalized out here. All of our food vendors are already set, and we are gearing up for livestock to start moving in tomorrow morning. So the excitement is very high, Glock says.” Visitors arriving for opening day can expect dry weather and free parking at the fairgrounds. A free shuttle will also run from Sam’s Club in Grand Island at the top of every hour.
Glock recommends visitors arrive early and plan their day in advance by checking the fair’s website for vendors, food options and scheduled events. She says volunteers in yellow shirts will also be available throughout the fairgrounds to help visitors find their way
“If you have questions or you’re not sure what to see or even where to start, our volunteers are a tremendous resource out here. They’re in their yellow shirts. You can’t miss them.” The Nebraska State Fair opens Friday and continues through Labor Day weekend at Fonner Park in Grand Island.
