Lincoln Police say a 46-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after fleeing from an officer on a bicycle. Captain Todd Kocian says an officer on routine patrol around 10:45 p.m. saw Noah Yankton leave the NP Mart near 28th and ‘O’ and fail to use a crosswalk before improperly crossing ‘O’ Street.
“The officer attempted to contact Yankton, however he fled northbound on his bicycle and ultimately crashed his bicycle in the 2800 block of ‘P’ Street where he then fled on foot,” Kocian says. After a short foot chase Yankton was taken into custody.
“A search of a backpack he was wearing led to the discovery of .2 grams of methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia, and what appeared to be some type of coin collection containing various coins and foreign currency.”
Yankton was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for second-offense resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a police officer.
