Lincoln and Lancaster County residents can review and comment on long-term plans covering transportation, housing and community growth during a public open house Tuesday.
The Plan Forward open house will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Charles H. Gere Branch Library, 2400 S. 56th St. The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees can review drafts of the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan update, the Lincoln Mobility Plan and the 2050 Lincoln-Lancaster County Comprehensive Plan update. The coordinated plans are intended to guide how the community grows and moves through 2050.
Transportation recommendations address roadways, safety, maintenance, public transit, trails, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, technology and funding. The Comprehensive Plan includes strategies involving walkable neighborhoods, housing choices and the protection of natural resources and farmland.
Those unable to attend can review the drafts and submit comments through a virtual open house here. The online comment period begins Tuesday and remains open through Oct. 22.
Officials say public feedback will help shape the plans before they are considered for adoption. Additional comments will be accepted during the public hearing process.
