Lincoln Police say they have identified a possible suspect in a box-cutter attack that seriously injured a 54-year-old Lincoln man early Sunday morning near 27th and Randolph streets.
Police initially described the incident as a stabbing but clarified Monday that the victim was slashed with a box cutter. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas said the attack occurred near a drive-thru window and was captured by a security camera.
“There’s security camera video that shows the entire incident, right? So it’s not a matter of he said, he said. We can see everything unfold,” Thomas said.
The victim suffered a severe cut to his neck and underwent surgery at a hospital. Police say his injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
Thomas said investigators have a suspect in mind and are working to locate him. Police have not said whether the victim and suspect knew each other.
