Lincoln police are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman accused of assaulting an employee at a convenience store near 82nd and O streets earlier this month.
Police say the incident happened around 9:45 p.m. Sept. 5 after an employee confronted a man about suspected shoplifting. The man and a woman left the store together, but police say the woman later returned and became verbally aggressive with the employee.
The employee told police she asked the woman to leave and then went into a staff office to create distance and de-escalate the situation. Police say the woman followed the employee into the office and slapped her across the face.
The woman was wearing a red T-shirt with the words “Cowboys and Tequila” on it.
Lincoln police are releasing photos of the woman in hopes someone can identify her. Anyone with information can submit a tip to Lincoln Crime Stoppers.
