A 47-year-old Lincoln man suffered several cuts to his arms and back during a robbery involving a machete or large knife early Wednesday. Police arrested one suspect and are searching for a second man.
Officers responded just before 1:30 a.m. to a business near North 48th Street and Leighton Avenue, where they determined the attack had occurred at an apartment near North 44th Street and Huntington Avenue. The man told officers two men cut him and stole his laptop, wallet, cash and cellphone.
LPD’s Erika Thomas told KLIN News the victim and suspects appeared to have some familiarity with one another. “I think I would call them probably like acquaintances,” Thomas said. “Sounds like they had hung out a little bit but didn’t know each other well.”
Investigators identified one suspect as Bryan Glaze of Lincoln. Officers contacted him outside the apartment complex and took him into custody without incident. The second suspect is still being sought, and police have not located the weapon.
