Nebraska announced a new license plate design. For once, I like it. It’s based on the mosaic on floor of the capital right when you walk in. The design is a muscular man drawn in a classic Greek style. He appears to be wearing a cape and nothing else. His privates are tastefully covered by his massive quadriceps and hamstring muscles because he’s sitting with his leg raised. He’s surrounded by clouds and lightning and is controlling it. He’s supposed to be a chariot driver. I can kind of see that. When I first looked, I thought he was shooting lighting or webs out of his hands. That or he had Wolverine claws. Turns out it’s the reins to horses that we can’t see. The whole thing would be great as the cover art for a new Led Zeppelin album.

Here’s a video of Nebraska license plates from the 60s through the previous on on my blog. It’s amazing how simply bland they were until the 80s.
