Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to a home in Sprague just after 5:00 Tuesday afternoon after a woman said her boyfriend was threatening her with a hatchet.
“The victim reported that he was threatening to kill her and had the hatchet above his head,” says Chief Deputy Ben Houchin. “She had to retreat and lock herself in the bathroom and waited for deputies to arrive.”
Houchin says deputies made contact with 42 year old Nicholas Yager and he was arrested without incident. Houchin says he was found with a 3 1/2 by 8 inch hatchet.
He was booked for having a concealed weapon, terroristic threats and using a weapon to commit a felony. He was also arrested on an unrelated warrant.
