Adele is having trouble at her Vegas shows because she’s having severe back pain. She says that she has really bad sciatica and it’s affecting her ability to walk.
I totally understand. Now, sciatica issues are described as legs, feet, and toes being numb, weak, or tingling from a nerve being pinched in the lower back. But, it can also be the most painful feeling in the world making you drop to the floor in a trembling heap. It’s hard to describe to people who haven’t experienced it. And it can be set off out of nowhere. I was brushing my teeth one one night and out of the blue, this horrible pain shot from the middle of my lower back around my waist and down my legs. I dropped to the floor and then it was nonstop pain for the next two weeks. The worst episode laid me out on my back for 3 months. I had to use a cane to hobble into physical therapy for a month to deal with it.
Point being, I wish Adele well. I can’t imagine trying to walk on stage much less perform for hours while having to deal with the pain. She says it comes from a couple of slipped disks in her back.
I haven’t had a major sciatic event in years. But, I also do specific stretches and exercises to strengthen lower back muscles every day to keep it from happening. Here’s a video that has some of them. If you have sciatica pain, these will probably help bring some relief.
