If you haven’t watched the latest episode of The Mandalorian, Wednesday, April 5th, and you don’t want any of it spoiled, stop reading right now. Turn your head away from this super cool news.
Ok, ready? Lizzo is now part of the Star Wars universe. Not Lizzo the singer, although that would be pretty cool. Rather, it’s Lizzo playing a Duchess on a planet that Mando and Goru visit. Also, Jack Black plays her boyfriend. These are probably the biggest pop culture names that have made cameos on the Madalorian. Speaking of big name singers in Star Wars, all the members of NSYNC were filmed playing Jedi for Attack of the Clones. But, it never made it into the final movie. JC said there was a legal reason for it at the time.
The Lizzo and Jack Black characters are completely new to Star Wars. It’s doubtful they’ll show up again. But who knows? Maybe Lizzzo can get a Flute that turns into a light saber.
