About ducking time! Auto correct feature getting fixed.

By Austin Michael Jun 7, 2023 | 6:55 PM

Finally, someone is leading the charge against one of the most infuriating things about technology today. Apple is fixing the autocorrect function so that it doesn’t try to keep using “ducking” where it shouldn’t. I keep notes on my phone all the time for show ideas, commercial ideas, and basically anything that pops into my head. And the stupid auto correct has been the bane of my professional life for years. It’s not just “ducking”. It’s a million other words that the auto correct thinks it knows best about. And it just makes me angrier when I see a word get changed from what I want. And so I re- type it in and the phone changes it again. And then the it just sits there quietly smirking. Oh, and when you want it to work, it decides that it doesn’t want to make words right. I can’t count how many times my wife has gotten a text from me that says, “I luge you.”

Anyway, Apple is putting a patch in so their phones don’t use “ducking” anymore. It’s just Apple right now. And, it’s just “ducking”, but it’s a start. Although, it’s being fixed by an AI, so it’s probably make us feel better about words while plotting things that are much, much worse.
