Disney might being losing money on The Little Mermaid just because of how much it cost to do Halle Bailey’s hair. The movie’s hairstylist says that they probably spent more than $150,000 on her hair because Halle didn’t want to cut her hair so that they could use a red wig. Her hair is a few feet long and putting a wig over it would look ridiculous. So the stylist custom colored some other hair and then fused it to Halle’s with keratin tips. She spent 12 hours doing that. Then they had to do some special stuff to make the hair float in water. Again, all that for the bargain price of more than $150,000.
And no, I don’t know why they couldn’t just dye her hair. Maybe Reba McEntire bought it all the red stuff. Also, did the spend that much on Javier Bardem’s beard? I mean, equal ridiculous pay in Hollywood, right? Remember when a $300 haircut for a politician seemed like a lot? Is that the good old days now?
