More Than 50 Gallons Of Gas Spilled After Car Hits Hose

By Tom Stanton Aug 9, 2023 | 2:53 PM

Lincoln Police say a hit and run driver left behind quite a mess at the Kwik Shop near Touzalin Avenue and Fremont Street around 12:30 Wednesday morning.  Sergeant Chris Vollmer says a fuel truck was filling the underground tank when a car drove through the parking lot and struck the hose.

That caused about 50-70 gallons of gas to spill onto the ground.  Police say the driver took off from the scene and has not been found.  LFR crews spent about an hour at the scene cleaning up the spilled gas.
