Goodbye to this Ford feature… maybe…. probably.

Say goodbye to the self-parallel parking feature in Ford cars. After tracking all the data from everyone’s cars………. Yes, they can track you, they discovered that nobody’s using it. After pouring millions into advertising about how great it is over the last few years, it’s been received with an overwhelming “Meh”.

Also, it’ll save them about 10 million a year to quit putting it in cars.

I was surprised that it only costs Ford $60 to put the Enhanced Park Assist in each car. They charge between $300 and $500 to put it in. I always something that seems to be super smart like that would have been much more on both ends. And I say it seems super smart, but I don’t think I could get myself to trust it. I’d be grinding my teeth the whole time the car is parallel parking; praying that it doesn’t hit another car.

If they’re going to make a car do something by itself, why not make them shut down and pull over the second people start looking at their phones or makeup mirrors while driving. Or if there isn’t at least one hand on the wheel. I saw a woman just 2 days ago with food in her left hand, phone in the right and she was leaning on the steering wheel trying to control it with her shoulder while she took bites and looked the the phone.
