Amazon is shutting down the free streaming service Freevee. So, if you’re in the middle of “Miami Vice”, “Heart Of Dixie”, or “Detective Pikachu”, wrap it up soon. Or sign up for Amazon Prime with advertising. They’re getting rid of Freevee because Prime with advertising pretty much made Freevee redundant. If you don’t want Prime, there are about 20 other free streaming services where you can find a lot of the same content. Believe me, I have most of them. My favorite is Tubi because there’s a nice mix of old, new, some really good stuff, and some completely so stupid it’s fun to watch stuff. Here are some others: Crackle, The Roku Channel, Plex, Redbox’s free channels, Pluto, Classix, and about 30 Japanese anime apps.
All of the Freevee original content will be moved to Prime. Word is that Freevee will be discontinued in April.
