Ever find something in a house or building that somebody else did to it where you were left wondering, “What were they thinking?”
The B107.3 studio is being renovated this week. The carpet was torn out this morning. Underneath is a concrete slab. At first, we thought some fibers from the torn out carpet were stuck to it or something. But after a closer look, we realized that it was carpet fibers breaking though from within the concrete. There had been a shag carpet in that room at one time. Then someone decided to pour concrete for the floor, but not take out the carpet. They just poured concrete over the shag carpet then put another carpet over the concrete.
I mean, I hate shag carpet as much as the next guy, but this seems almost like someone went all mafia vendetta on this room.
By the way, there are zero videos blogs online that talk about the benefits or instructions on how to pour concrete over carpet. I looked just in case I was missing something. Nope. Turns out it’s just a really bad idea. I wish I could have been here to listen to them discuss it as an option. I would have been about 3 years old though.
