A couple were finally married 70 years after falling in love and then being apart. Elaine Hall and Roland Passaro met in junior high in 1950. They each had a crush on the other. He was a star athlete. She was a cheerleader. It was a John Mellencamp song in action.
But, for whatever reason, they never dated and Elaine ended up getting married right out of high school with a no frills wedding without wearing a wedding dress. Roland also married. They both had several children.
Then the flame was rekindled at their 50th high school reunion. By Christmas, they were living together. Now, at 88 years old each, they’ve finally married and Elaine got to wear a wedding dress, veil and all.
