A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that injured a 19-year-old motorcyclist in west Lincoln on Saturday night. LPD says it happened at West South and South First streets around 10:30 p.m.
According to a police report the 19-year-old man was riding a small motorcycle when he was hit by a pickup driven by Darren Gillespie. The motorcyclist was taken to Bryan West Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
LPD says according to witnesses the vehicle left the scene and officers found it less than an hour later near 40th and Old Cheney. Police found Gillespie under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and booked for leaving the scene of an injury accident, DUI and Careless Driving.
