If you could get stuffing flavored rolls for Thanksgiving, would you still make stuffing? Pepperidge Farm has come up with “Farmhouse Stuffing Seasoned Rolls”. I mean, stuffing is really just dry bread with seasonings in it……. that you moisten up so it’s more like bread again. So, why bother with making it dry to begin with? Cut out the middle man and go straight to seasoned bread!
I’ll tell you why. Rolls are boring. You can’t stuff a turkey with them. You can’t mix them up with the vegetables or into the mashed potatoes. You can’t spread a roll out over half your plate and pour gravy all over it. Stuffing is kind of the rock star of dinner bread.
Although, I will admit that these stuffing seasoned rolls have an advantage when making turkey sandwiches. Double although, rolls aren’t big enough to make a satisfying sandwich. I like having a big square I can slice diagonally before chowing down on a couple of triangles. I think wraps might have the rolls beat there too since you can fill them up with anything you want including gravy soaked stuffing. Mmmmmm.
Anyway, these stuffing seasoned rolls are only available for a limited time. Grab ‘em if you want ‘em because they’ll be long gone by Thanksgiving.
