Cat rescue amidst hurricane and tornado warnings.

By Austin Michael Oct 14, 2024 | 8:00 PM

Here’s a hopeful story out of the wreck of hurricane Milton.

A couple of reporters were waiting out a tornado warning in Fort Meyers last Wednesday. Rain was pouring. Trees were violently swaying back and forth. Branches were falling everywhere. And for some reason they were sitting in their car the whole time. Then, a woman tapped on a window and told them about a yowling sound from under the vehicle.

This is where I’m a little confused. How would a woman, in the middle of all of this hear something under a car? Especially if they were inside the car and couldn’t hear it themselves.

Anyway, suspension of disbelief and all that.

They found a cat under the car. They quickly pulled it into the car and dried it off. They also caught the rescue on video. You can see it on my blog at b1073.com. It’s gone viral. All you have to do is type in “Hurricane Cat” on social media.

The kitty was not microchipped. So, if nobody claims her, one of the reporters has already filled out the papers to adopt her.

She’s being called “Hurricane Cat”, but I prefer “Hurricat”.
