Lincoln Police say a teenager was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car while crossing the street at 33rd and Van Dorn Thursday afternoon.  Lincoln Police say a woman was driving southbound around 12:45 and the 14-year-old boy was walking westbound from the park as school was letting out.

The driver told police she didn’t see the teen crossing because several vehicles in the left turn lane were blocking her view. LPD says the driver hit the brakes with both feet, but  couldn’t avoid hitting the boy.

He was taken to the hospital with minor arm injuries. No citation was issued.
