I’m kind of jealous that the Huskers aren’t going to the Pop Tart Bowl. They just revealed the new trophy for the Pop Tart Bowl and it has a functioning toaster built into it.
In case you don’t know, the Pop Tart Bowl came into being last year. It featured a giant Pop Tart mascot that winning team got to eat. This year there are 3 flavors competing to be the one that gets eaten: Hot Fudge Sunday, Wild Berry, and Cinnamon Roll.
Or friends over in Iowa, The Cyclones, get to be in the Pop Tart Bowl in Florida where there’s warm weather. And if they win, they get to take home a trophy that literally cooks Pop Tarts. I’m guessing they’ll get a ton of the pastries to go with it.
Meanwhile, the Huskers get to freeze in New York.
I used to eat whole boxes of Pop Tarts in one sitting as a snack when I was a kid. Then I became a teen and cared about my figure because I started noticing girls. I was 14 and on the phone talking to a girl I wanted to ask out while eating Pop Tarts when I finally read the calories on the back of the box. It came to 1,200 calories. I stopped that habit on the spot. But I still love them from afar.
You can catch the Pop Tart Bowl after the Husker game Saturday. It’ll be the 28th at 2:30 on ESPN+.
