Lincoln Police say a man and woman are dead following a domestic disturbance Wednesday afternoon. Police Chief Michon Morrow says officers were called to the area of 84th and Sandalwood Drive on a report of a 21-year-old woman who had been struck by a car that was driven by a man.
She says two young women who saw what happened put the injured woman in their SUV. “They drove away eastbound and he ended up following at what we believe was likely a high rate of speed where he hits their vehicle,” Morrow says.
The vehicle then spun out and ended up in the front yard of a home on Indian Hills Drive. Morrow says the 28-year-old suspect then approached the vehicle and shot the woman several times. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition and LPD says she died Wednesday evening.
Morrow says the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound. She did not say if he shot himself, but only one gun was found at the scene. Investigators say the man and woman knew each other, but details about their relationship are not known.
